The gospel is a real story with a deep message of political hope - 'the kingdom of God is near, repent and believe the good news'. This coming kingdom is one in which there is no more crying or mourning or pain. It is a kingdom in which there is no more injustice, suffering, or hurt. How we long for such a place.
Yet, we cannot have the kingdom without the king. If we want this kingdom we must submit to his rule. But the question is, what does this look like in the cut and thrust of politics?
