There are tonnes of good books out there written by politicians, theologians, and other big thinkers which help us not just engage with Biblical teaching on politics but apply it. Each term the Politics Network reads one book and then meets to discuss what we have learned and how it helps us be both faithful and present in the political debates and issues of our context.
This term we will be reading ‘The Liturgy of Politics’ by Kaitlyn Schiess.
We are shaped all the time by the world around us, aren’t we? Adverts, television and film, even our political conversations. In this book Schiess demonstrates the immense pull of politics and how it shapes our lives, even forming/reforming our ultimate values. How do we then engage politically as a church? Well, have a read and join us as we discuss how to be distinctive and discerning amidst the power of politics.
Look out for a Zoom link sent out by email nearer the time.
